College mission:
 
       Ensuring a high level of educational process organization, providing professional pre-higher, professional (vocational and technical), specialized secondary (complete general secondary) education; combining educational, scientific, innovative and educational components; promoting national, cultural and human values.
       Nizhyn Applied College of NULES of Ukraine, as an institution of professional pre-higher education, is a separate structural subdivision of one of the leading educational and scientific institutions of Ukraine, National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, which unites more than 26 thousand students, 2600 research and teaching staff, including about 300 professors and doctors of sciences, more than 1000 associate professors and PhDs, and more than 600 postgraduate and doctoral students, has three educational and research institutes, 13 faculties, and 11 separate subdivisions. The university is developing rapidly, is a leader in agricultural education and is one of the top universities in Ukraine. The university is headed by the Rector, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Honored Educator of Ukraine, Vadym Anatoliiovych Tkachuk. Stanislav Mykolaiovych Nikolaienko is the President and Chairman of the Academic Council of the University.
       Separate structural subdivision “Nizhyn Applied College of National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine” has a common history with the Separate subdivision of National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine “Nizhyn Agrotechnical Institute”, which began on July 1, 1895 with Nizhyn Vocational School.
       On March 12, 2004, the Rector of Nizhyn Agrotechnical Institute issued an order to establish a separate structural unit of the Institute, the Department for Training of Junior Specialists, to provide graduate training.
       In 2014, at the request of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Nizhyn Agricultural College was established on the basis of the Department for the Training of Junior Specialists of  Nizhyn Agricultural Institute (Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 930 of 12.08.2014, Orders of the NULES of Ukraine No. 488 of 24.04.2014, No. 676 of 10.06.2014).
       In 2020, in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Professional Higher Education”, the college was renamed into Nizhyn Applied College of NULES of Ukraine (Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 708 of May 28, 2020).
       In a short time, an educational institution of Chernihiv oblast was formed, headed by Olena Lytovchenko, teacher of the highest category, teacher-methodologist, and Excellence in Education of Ukraine.
       The College operates on the basis of the Regulation approved in accordance with the established procedure, other regulatory documents in accordance with the current legislation and its own regulatory documents.
      Separate structural subdivision “Nizhyn Applied College of NULES of Ukraine” has the following main structural subdivisions:
  • three departments: technical and energy systems and automation equipment; economics, logistics and information systems; pre-university training;
  • 8 cycle commissions: social and humanitarian disciplines; general education disciplines; operation of machinery and equipment and fundamental disciplines; electric power and automation systems; computer engineering; special economic disciplines; transport technologies; physical education;
  • Department of Automation and Electrical Engineering;
  • accounting service;
  • human resources department;
  • legal service;
  • occupational safety service and civil protection unit;
  • educational and methodological unit (educational and methodological office);
  •  department of training and production practices and working professions;
  • library;
  • department of educational work and student affairs;
  • household unit;
  •  energy service and others.
       Specialists are trained in the educational and professional degree “Professional Junior Bachelor” in six specialties:
- 208  “Agroengineering”,
- 141 “Electric power engineering, electrical engineering and electromechanics”,
- 151 “Automation, computer-integrated technologies and robotics”,
- 071 “Accounting and Taxation”,
- 123 “Computer Engineering”,
- 275 “Transport Technologies (in road transport)”,
       In 2017 the University obtained a license to provide the Bachelor's degree in the specialty 151 “Automation and Computer-Integrated Technologies”.
       Training of professional junior bachelors is carried out on the basis of
- basic general secondary education with simultaneous getting complete general secondary education,
- complete general secondary education,
- Qualified Worker's degree program.
       While studying in the college, students simultaneously with a diploma of a professional junior bachelor can receive a certificate of assignment of a working qualification:
- 4112 Computer typing operator,
- 4115 Secretary of the head (of organization, enterprise, institution),
- 7241 Electrician for repair and maintenance of electrical equipment,
- 7242 Instrumentation and automation fitter (electromechanic),
- 7231 Сar repair mechanic,
- 8322 Driver of motor vehicles (category “B”, “C”),
- 7233 Mechanic for the repair of agricultural machinery and equipment,
- 8331 Tractor driver of agricultural production (category “A”).
       All specialties at the College are accredited.
       The licensed volume of admission for educational and professional degree “Professional Junior Bachelor” is 275 people.
       The College has 792 full-time students.
       Specialists are trained by 63 pedagogical employees, including 9 PhDs and 2 Doctors of Sciences, 41 teachers have the highest qualification category, and 37 have pedagogical and scientific titles.
       The educational and scientific-methodical work at the college is carried out by the cycle (including 5 graduation) commissions, their activities are carried out in close cooperation with the relevant departments of National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine and Nizhyn Agrotechnical Institute.
       Educational work is aimed at establishing the Ukrainian study model of national-civic and national-patriotic education, which is confirmed by a wide range of events (celebrations on the occasion of holidays and significant dates, charity events, quests, thematic educational hours, excursions, competitions, etc.) Sports activities are represented by the work of sports sections, which have won victories at the international, national and regional levels.
       Separate structural subdivision “Nizhyn Applied College of NULES of Ukraine” has a modern material and technical base in common with structural subdivision of NULES of Ukraine “Nizhyn Agrotechnical Institute”. The staff of the educational institution is working to improve it and students’ social and living conditions in the hostel.
       The students have access to a library with 2 reading rooms with 115 seats and an area of 375.6 m2 with a book collection of 30312 copies, more than 29 thousand titles of books, magazines and other printed materials. The collection of the library and information center is systematically updated with periodicals. The educational funds include specialized collections of printed materials and electronic textbooks.
       To support the educational process, the college has 31 laboratories and 12 classrooms, 11 computer laboratories, and 26 classrooms equipped with multimedia equipment.  To ensure constant and uninterrupted work of the college during classes, all workplaces of students and teachers are united in their own local network with access to the Internet. Electronic learning resources are posted on the college's educational and information portal, there is access to the electronic library system and the Moodle platform, free Wi-Fi access points have been created on the territory of the college. All classrooms of the college are connected to the wired Internet, if necessary, for implementation of blended and distance learning.
       There is a buffet; two gymnasiums with a total area of 2690.0 m2 are equipped with exercise equipment and sports gear, a stadium, and sports grounds. The assembly hall with 450 seats is used for general events.
      The student hostel with 180 beds allows to meet the housing needs of students from other areas by 100%. The hostel has appropriate infrastructure, namely: rooms for recreation, self-study, sports, and a medical center.
       The language of the educational process is Ukrainian.
